According to the constitution, Combs had to attend two meetings prior to the beginning of campaigns.
The Election Commission Committee is in charge of supervising the election with regard to complying with the constitution, Winslow said.
The Election Commission Committee consisted of Heather Fredrick, assistant professor of political science; Braquel Sallmen, a freshman student; Ryan Ambrose, a junior political science major; Chris Scanlon, a junior history and secondary education major; and Clark.
SGA President elect and current commuter senator Larry Brink said that it just boiled down to an issue of miscommunication.
"Combs received many more votes than the other runner, Garrison Phillis," he said. "He represents the students' best interest that is why he received more votes."
Patterson Hall senator Alex McNeil motioned to table the motion for two weeks until the next SGA meeting.
"We should all receive a copy of the constitution and review it before the next meeting so that we can make an educated decision," McNeil said.
Kraus Hall Senator Ryan McGregor agreed with McNeil about tabling the motion.
The Rocket has been inquiring for weeks about getting an updated copy of the constitution but hasn't received one.
Bard Hall Senator Bill Cooper said that the constitution should be followed the way it is written.
"It's not always about what's fair," he said. "I'm sorry if Combs ends up getting screwed out of the position."
After the 13-2 with one abstention vote to table the motion, Combs asked the senate how many people ran in the 2007-08 election.
"This is a biased organization," Combs said. "Some of them probably don't want me here anyway."
In other SGA news, Krista Smith, junior secondary education major, was elected as a commuter senator and sophomore computer science and information technology major, Brian Turner, was announced the new Building C senator.
The last SGA meeting will be April 26 at 12:30 p.m. in room 207 of the Union.

The Constitution is clear that the Election Commission has no power to change the Qualifications to run for Executive Office. I find it shameful and quite disturbing that President-Elect Larry Brink does not seem to care that the Constitution was violated. (Continued…)
