Following the 2007-08 Student Government Association board election results, the current board discussed during Thursday's meeting how recent projects are coming along.
"I wanted to congratulate the newly elected SGA members," said Parliamentarian Ashley Clark. "Everyone ran a clean campaign and there were no violations."
Vice President of Financial Affairs Scott McCaskey said that SRU President Robert Smith has approved all of the student organizational budgets.
"It was a smooth progress and very successful," he said.
Also, the opening of the student lounge in the McKay Education Building will be pushed back until April 9 because of a technical delay.
"There will be fliers to advertise the opening so more students know about it," McCaskey said.
The University Program Board Vice President of University Events Samantha Dawson said she is really excited about the new lounge.
"A bunch of education majors would bring their lunches to McKay and we would just sit in the hall and eat," she said. "With the new lounge being built, there will be a place for people to go in between classes."
In other SGA news, the design for the senior gift, a new Kiester Road entrance sign, is still underway.
"We ran into a little problem with the Kiester entrance sign," Kim Adams, vice president of advancement, said. "Originally we had two SRU logos on the sign, and according to the public relations department we can only have one."
The sign is being revamped and will be up for a bid as soon as possible, she said.
The next SGA meeting will be held at 12:30 p.m. on April 12 in room 207 of the University Union.
