Alcohol story overblown
Issue date: 3/3/06 Section: Rocket Letters
To the Editor:
I recently read a letter about the raiding of 639 S. Main St. I found it appalling and unnerving. This was an obvious attempt to destroy the characters of the wonderful people who call that establishment home. Slippery Rock is a small town, with not much to do. It should not surprise anyone that a party might occur on a weekend, because you really can only study so much. I am not condoning underage drinking, because after all, it is illegal. If that was what the previous letter focused on, I would whole-heartedly agree with that. The idea that these women are loud and throw parties all the time, is ridiculous. This was definitely an event that was caught in the grapevine of Slippery Rock students weeks before. I can only hope that they weren't traumatized by such a heinous attack on the characters.
