SRU concert a great chance to see major bands
Issue date: 2/10/06 Section: Rocket Letters
To the Editor:
Students this weekend have a great opportunity to see three major label, recording artists at the University Union MPR on Saturday night for only $5.00! The staff at WRSK have been working hard the past month to prepare for The Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, Elefant, and The Morning After Girls. These rock bands are currently touring North America after completing a European tour last fall. This is the only college venue that this tour will be playing. Their dates at major venues on this tour include Webster Hall in New York City, Henry Fonda Theater in Los Angeles, and The Fillmore in San Francisco, -- which have already sold out or will sell out. You also have the opportunity to hear a brief preview for free at The North Country Brewery at 3 p.m. on Saturday afternoon. At least one member of Black Rebel Motorcycle Club will play some acoustic songs from their new album. The evening performance will be a full rock show with intelligent lighting and thundering sound (note to self - remember to bring cotton for ears).I hope you'll work this event into your weekend schedule. The door open at 8 p.m., and bands begin at 9 p.m.
