Water polo loses fourth straight

The Slippery Rock University women's water polo team lost four games at the Michigan Kickoff in Ann Arbor this past weekend.
Losses included games against No. 8 Michigan, No. 17 UC-San Diego, Michigan State and Colorado State.
"We opened up with a tough tournament and we have a young team," coach Jim Yeamans said.
On Sunday, the Rock lost 9-5 to Michigan, and lost 18-1 to UC-San Diego.
In the game against Michigan, sophomore defender Sarah Sander scored a goal.
Junior driver Erika Brunner scored a goal, had four steals, and forced three kickouts during the match.
Senior defender Amanda Zychowski scored a goal and added one assist.
Sophomore utility player Ashley Goodwill and freshman Laura Sanford each scored a goal.
Freshman Emily Campbell added two assists and two steals to the Rock effort, while sophomore driver Beth Choike earned two steals and caused one kickout.
Freshman Heather Walbright added to the effort with an assist and a steal.
Sophomore utility Rose Schiavone had a steal, while freshman Dru Murphy recorded two steals in the loss. Goalie, junior Kelly Leibolt recorded six saves and one steal.
On Saturday, The Rock fell to Michigan State by a score of 8-6 and lost to Colorado State, 8-4.
Brunner scored two goals, had two assists, and two steals in the game against Michigan State.
Sanford scored two goals and earned one steal.
Campbell and Choike each scored one goal in the game. Campbell also had one assist and caused a kickout, while Choike also picked up a steal.
"It's always a challenge when you're playing the best," Yeamans said.
The Rock has a break until Feb. 25, when it will play Marist, Maryland and Wagner in the opening day of the Bucknell Invitional.
