Schools must announce classes sooner
Issue date: 2/3/06 Section: Rocket Letters
To the Editor:
Why is it that on February 1st, 2006 we are all still waiting for the release of the summer and fall schedules? Classes are scheduled to start in just over 3 months from today. Every professor I have spoken to seems to know what they will be teaching this summer. They are able to make plans for their lives, why can't we as students have the same opportunity. Instead we must wait until the powers that be, whoever they may be, take their sweet time in getting the information to those to whom it matters most. Think about it in just a little over three months pre-session begins and we have no idea what we are going to be able to do throughout the summer be it with studies, work or vacation. It is frustrating as a student to attend a university with such disregard for their students. Practices such as this put a black eye on the university and those responsible for the decisions it makes.
