Shove that little black dress to the back of the closet, because this year is all about white. This Diane vonFurstenberg ivory lace dress embodies what this spring is all about. It captures the femininity that will soon be bigger than it has been in years. This v-neck, raw-edged lace dress with nude underlay, and asymmetric drop waist with a full skirt from Neiman Marcus is hardly doable at $396, but let it be your inspiration for spring. It has the feel of the 40's and 50's with the natural waistline, soft lines, and antique lace, tied together with a droopy satin bow.

The deal of the day can be found at BCBG Maxazria at the Grove City Prime Outlets. At least half of the store is on sale right now, and it's just a hop, skip, and a jump away from campus.

In this week's splurge vs. steal, our SRU girl is going on an interview for a fabulous summer internship. The splurge is a gorgeous ruby red, velvet, two-button jacket with a notched collar over a tulle tank with ruffled trim, this, paired with a black pencil skirt makes an edgy yet conservative outfit. This whole outfit from Dolce & Gabbana will run you $1,270. The ensemble is completed with black Manolo Blahnik buckle pumps for $595, making the total cost $1,865. The more affordable option is a black lace corset camisole for $12.50 from Wet Seal, matched with a black velvet jacket by Nicole Miller found at JC Penny on sale for $39.99. The bottom is a herringbone pencil skirt for $19.80 from Forever 21, and the black peep toe pumps by Mossimo finish off the look for $22.99. The grand total for the outfit that says professional and chic is $95.28.

We are approaching a new era in fashion--one that embraces the woman for what she really is, curves and all. It represents a woman who excels in a man's world while retaining her feminine attributes. Women no longer need to wear masculine suiting to hide her figure to be respected in the working world. Pencil skirts that hug every curve and waist-cinching jackets have replaced loose-fitting pantsuits. This same attitude has jump-started the craze of sporting right-hand rings, the idea of women wearing diamonds on their right hands, simply because they can.

This new era glorifies, lace, natural waistlines, round toe pumps, chiffon, taffeta, bows, satin, and large costume jewelry. So get in touch with your femininity and enjoy being a girl.

So Ten Minutes Ago -

This probably hurts me more than it hurts you, but pointy toe shoes are
totally on their way out. Don't worry too much, you won't see me burning half of my shoe collection just yet. But you might want to invest in some mace, your shoes aren't going to stop anyone.
