A 22-year-old Slippery Rock woman was found dead by her husband Saturday morning after a fire at her parent's house in Grove City.
The woman, Brandi Dunn, died of a severe head injury before the fire started. Officials said the blaze was arson.
This was the first murder in Grove City in 40 years.
Ms. Dunn's husband, 26-year-old Scott Dunn, was the person who made the 911 call Saturday morning. He claimed that he'd seen an assailant struggling with Ms. Dunn while the fire was blazing. He said he tried to save his wife, but the flames were too intense.
State police were recently examining Mr. and Ms. Dunn's Myspace.com accounts for comments or messages made before or after the incident.
Myspace.com is a Web site designed for social networking and is most generally used by teens and young adults.
According to the Pittsburgh Post Gazette, one of the comments was from Ms. Dunn to her husband on Jan. 12. The post read: "I know you are still mad at me, but I still love you, I'm sorry baby."
In the several days after the incident, a number of comments and messages were modified or deleted. Police are still unsure of who made these modifications.
Cpl. Cheryl Michalski of the Butler County Crime Unit said the posts were being examined and reviewed by a computer investigation team.
Both Mr. and Ms. Dunn's accounts were removed on Tuesday evening.
Steve Huff, an established expert "cybersleuth" and investigative journalist writes for CourtTV's online Crime Library Web site. In an article for Crime Library, Huff said Mr. Dunn is not yet a suspect but that authorities are studying his activities.
According to Pennsylvania's Unified Judicial System Web site, Mr. Dunn has also been arrested four times since 1999; three times for burglary and once for use/possession of drug paraphernalia.
The Dunns had been married since July 2005 and had no children. Ms. Dunn worked as a bartender at an area restaurant.
