The eternal destination of the believer, often referred to as heaven, is not going to be a boring place where we float around on puffy clouds. It is actually a city, the New Jerusalem…where there is no sun because the illuminating glory of God is the light, where there are no more tears and no more pain, where there is only pure joy and exhilaration.

Revelations 21:9 describes what it will be like to be in the utter brilliance and majesty of the presence of God. So many people create an image of who God is from making observations in the world. You cannot judge God from observing someone who calls himself or herself a Christian, going to church or even talking to a pastor or a priest.

Romans 3:4 says let God be true and every man a lie. People are crazy in this world if you haven't noticed. Do not take what anyone tells you at face value if you are seeking truth in your life. What would life be if there was no truth? Pretty much meaningless. With no absolutes in life, what would you be living for? God can be real in your life, if you delight in Him, like it says to in Psalm 37:4. It even says He will give you all the secret desires of your heart.

The sweet thing is that Jesus Christ is the only leader to claim to be the way, the truth and the life, and in John 1:14, it says that when Jesus came to earth, He was that Word of God that became flesh. He came down from His glorious throne to save you and me and give us true life.

You cannot separate God from His Word and having a true relationship with Him is such an incredible and deep journey, filled with passion, romance, joy, and excitement. Every day gets better as He fills your life with His wisdom and love. There is only one way you can get to know who God truly is, what heaven or hell is like, or anything else you might need to know in life. 2 Peter 1:2-4 says that God has given you everything you need for life in His Word. Just ask God to reveal it to you through His Spirit.

In John 1:1 the Bible says, In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. What does this mean? It means that the Word of God has always existed, and that Jesus is actually the Word of God and was with God the Father in the beginning.

Jesus and the Bible itself claim to be truth and the light in the darkness of this world. The question is, are you thirsty? In John 7:37 Jesus stood, and He cried in a loud voice, If any man is thirsty, let him come to Me and drink. He who believes in Me (who cleaves to and trusts in and relies on Me) as the Scripture has said, From his innermost being shall flow (continuously) springs and rivers of living water.

I am challenging you to create a new and better life for yourself. 1 Peter 1:23 says your new life is not like your old life. Your old birth came from mortal sperm; your new birth comes from God's living Word. Just think: a life conceived by God himself.
