Salaries for administrators, faculty, and staff in the Pennsylvania State System significantly vary with other colleges and universities in Pennsylvania.
At Slippery Rock University, full-time instructors start at $39,418 and can make up to $56,851; assistant professors start at $45,631 and can make up to $65,812; associate professors start at $52,824 and can make $75,186; and full professors start at $64,207 and can make up to $92,604.
The lowest paid part-time instructor at SRU earns $6,030. There are 46 assistant professors, 30 associate professors and 61 professors that are full-time and paid the highest in their salary schedules.
Faculty salaries in non-state system colleges and universities in Pennsylvania vary greatly.
At Geneva College, a Baccalaureate institution, faculty are paid the least out of all the schools in Pennsylvania. Professors earn $54,700, associate professors earn $47,500 and assistant professors earn $39,200.
At the University of Pennsylvania, a Doctoral institution, faculty earn the most of any school in Pennsylvania. Full-time professors earn $143,400, associate professors earn $95,900 and assistant professors earn $85,200.
Duquesne University, a Master's institution, pays full-time professors $88,500; associate professors, $68,000; assistant professors, $54,200 and instructors $40,800.
Administrative salaries differ significantly with faculty and other employees in all state system schools.
There are seven different bargaining units Pennsylvania's State System of Higher Education (PASSHE) negotiates with to establish salaries for employees: Association of Pennsylvania State Colleges and University Faculties (APSCUF), American Federation of State, City and Municipal Employees (AFSCME), State Colleges and University Professional Association (SCUPA), Office and Professional Employees International Union (OPEIU), Pennsylvania Doctor's Alliance (PDA), Pennsylvania Social Services Union (PSSU), and Security, Police, and Fire Professionals of America (SPFPA).
