The biggest story this week, for what will probably be the first and last time, is breaking news on an act that will be making its way through Slippery Rock next semester. It has recently been confirmed by numerous reliable sources that Black Rebel Motorcycle Club will be playing their instruments for all of you lovely Slippery Rock students on Saturday, Feb.11 next semester.

According to what I am hearing, the concert will indeed be sponsored by the fine ladies and gentlemen at WRSK along with the UPB. I have been assured that tickets will begin to go on sale before the semester's end and will only be a mere $5 for students. So, for all of you people who moan about there being nothing to do around this place, skip the McDonald's for one night and go check out a rock show.

Moving on to some hip-hop news, a who's who of rap music turned out in support of Irv Gotti at his trial for money laundering on Wednesday. As reported before, the owner of popular hip-hop record label The Inc. has been under fire for cleaning more than $1 million work in illicit drug profits and could face time in prison if convicted.

Hip-hop megastars Jay-Z, Russell Simmons, Damon Dash and Fat Joe, along with The Inc. artists Ja Rule and Ashanti all turned out in support of the record executive. The jury began deliberations Thursday morning and there is expected to be a verdict by the time you read this. As always, we will keep you posted.

Next, aside from the sex and drugs, what is it that rock stars love to do more than anything? Fight of course, and that's what happened on Thanksgiving night in a Baltimore hotel between rap/rock/reggae/funk/cover band 311 and ex-Creed front man/drug addict/alcoholic, Scott Stapp.

According to reports, 311's rhythm section, drummer Chad Sexton and bassist P-Nut, were sitting in the lounge of the Harbor Court Hotel in Baltimore on Thanksgiving night, watching an L.A. Lakers game when the annoying ex-front man, appearing to be "out of his mind" stumbled in and sucker-punched Sexton in the face. From there, bassist P-Nut got a retaliation shot in while Sexton began to come back at Stapp. After the two got their punches in, they both held him down until hotel security came and carried the drunken mess of a lead singer away. I guess his solo album isn't doing as well as he thought it would.

Finally, in news that makes me more excited than you could possibly know, Kelly Clarkson confirmed that she is indeed dating pop-rocker Graham Colton. In an interview with Seventeen magazine, she said that the singer is "beyond amazing," and that she "totally appreciates him."

For those of you who do not know who Graham Colton is, shame on you. He fronts the best band you have never heard of called, creatively, the Graham Colton Band. They have toured with everyone from Counting Crows, Dave Matthews, and not surprisingly, most recently, Kelly Clarkson. Go pick up all of his band's albums, listen to them and love me for telling you about it.

Until next time, keep listening….
