Aiken critics are off base
Issue date: 11/4/05 Section: Rocket Letters
To the editor:
"In other pop-star touring news, your favorite annoying pop-star manufacturer, American Idol's skinny little good ol' southern boy, Clay Aiken, announced plans to extend his 'Won't You Please Go Away' tour this week. According to reports, he will be performing Christmas songs that didn't make it on his 'Merry Christmas with Love' album that sold a grand total of 89 copies."
For the record, Merry Christmas With Love sold 270, 010 copies the first week and was the highest selling holiday album....ever.
It must be very painful to read this column on a daily, weekly or whatever basis...it reeks of negativity, sarcasm and downright childishness...as well as being very inaccurate and biased.
Also, said tour is already sold-out in PA...but you wouldn't know that because you don't believe in checking facts before you open your mouth. Fortunately, not all PA'ers are as red-necked and anal as you appear to be.
Since Clay has a strong fan base in PA, I wish them the best as they attend this exciting concert. Hopefully, it won't take them 10 years to live down your inane tirade.
