Water polo wins 12th straight

The Slippery Rock University water polo team defeated Penn State Behrend, 10-7 Thursday night to win its 12th game of the season.
The Rock defeated Gannon, 10-7 on Saturday, improving its overall record to 17-3.
According to the latest Collegiate Water Polo Association poll, SRU is currently ranked 10th in the region.
Junior goalie Glenn Reepmeyer rejected 24 shots and earned two steals in the victory.
Sophomore Oliver Horrigan led the Rock offensive attack with three goals and four steals during the game.
"Reepmeyer had 24 saves and played well," coach Jim Yeamans said.
Junior left wing Aaron Chapple scored two goals, recorded three assists and picked up one steal. Senior offensive setter Arseni Grokhovski scored two goals and recorded one assist. Sophomore driver Eric Olson scored two goals and recorded one assist in the win. Junior driver Ryan Holt recorded a team-record seven steals to go along with one goal and one assist.
"We were tied at the half and then we exploded in the third quarter and held Gannon," Yeamans said. "We played solid and fundamental water polo."
On Friday, the Rock defeated Washington and Jefferson, 12-8.
"It was a great game with a great crowd," Yeamans said. "W and J held tough throughout the game."
Horrigan scored four goals. Olson added three goals and Reepmeyer recorded sixteen saves that night.
"We played well throughout the entire game," Yeamans said.
The Rock now turns its sights to the Division II Eastern Championships this weekend in West Virginia.
