Fall break reaffirmed

The results of the University Union survey are being reviewed so a final vote by students is ready by December.
"It's looking really good," Assistant Vice President of Student Development Paula Olivero said. "Over 1,500 students responded to the survey."
The number one improvement students would like to see in the Union is a movie theater.
In other SGA news, Vice President of Academic Affairs Kurt Sterling said the Calendar Committee voted to reaffirm fall break for next year. The committee will take suggestions to the Meet and Discuss, comprised of faculty and staff.
Sterling said it's too hard to tell what will happen, they are waiting to see what the faculty and staff think about a pilot fall break for next year.
Sterling said they need two SGA representatives for the Future Library Committee on the renovation or expansion of Bailey Library.
Vice President of Financial Affairs Preston Gibbs said that certain organizations that need funding for next year need to turn in the registration packet by Nov. 15.
The Latino Music Festival received $25 of funding from the SGA
In Homecoming news, Senators Julie Aiken and Emily Birchfield raised $311 during the Homecoming Parade Saturday.
Slippery Rock University is ahead of Clarion University in the race to raise $10,000 for Hurricane Katrina Relief Fund. Slippery Rock has raised $7,100 and Clarion $5,000.
President Julie Hepner said that former President Jude Butch said he was very proud of the current Senate.
"I'm really proud too," Hepner said.
Hepner said the rally was well attended and the Homecoming events went really well.
The SGA and the University Program Board float was second place behind the Student Alumni Relations Board float.
Hepner said the combined QPA of SGA is 3.33 and 3.347 for the executive board alone.
A senator is still needed from Kraus Hall and Founders Hall.
Three new organizations, Percussion Club, Fitness Integrated Teaching Club and Anastasis Agape, were recognized by the SGA.
