Water polo dominates Hunkler Shootout

The Slippery Rock University men's water polo defeated Gannon University, 10-6 and Ohio University, 15-10 last weekend in the Hunkler Shootout, which took place in the Morrow Field House pool.
"The guys played hard," coach Jim Yeamans said.
The wins extend the Rock's winning streak to nine games, improving the team's season record to 15-3.
Sophomore driver Eric Olson scored four goals and earned two assists in the victory over Gannon and added one goal and three assists against Ohio University.
Left wing Aaron Chapple scored two goals against Gannon and scored one goal in victory over Ohio.
Offensive setter, senior Arseni Grokhovski and freshman Andy Stiebler scored a goal apiece in each of Saturday's games. Grokhovski also had one assist and a steal against Gannon, while Stiebler picked up two steals.
Sophmore Nick Byron gave the Rock offense the lead against Ohio University. Byron scored four goals, while freshman Ben Sorofman scored three goals, and junior driver, Andy Morrison knocked two goals. "Gannon is a very good team and is right behind us in the ranking," Yeamans said. "The guys are working hard and are getting ready and excited for the championships."
The Rock hosts Washington and Jefferson tonight at 7 p.m."We have huge games this weekend," Yeamans said. "We are tied for first place with Washington and Jefferson."
