To the Editor:

"Everybody's favorite American Idol rocker Bo Bice recently began recording his first solo effort since being on the show, but only until this week did we know who would sink themselves to his level to appear on the LP. According to reports, the singer has begun work on tracks with former Evanescence guitarist Ben Moody, Nickelback singer/songwriter Chad Kroeger and interestingly enough, Bon Jovi's Richie Sambora. Apparently Jon was too busy doing his hair. The album is set to hit stores on Nov. 29."

I don't know where this negativity towards Bo Bice is coming from. Just because this guy was on American Idol doesn't necessarily mean he sucks and that no one with any musical talent would want to work with him.

I myself have become hooked on Bo Bice. Yes, a contestant from the American Idol TV show. I never watched that show, but someone told me I might like this guy Bo Bice who sang mostly southern rock. He's 29, a musician who has played in bands for years (was working in a music store), and tried out for the pop show on a dare from his mom and ended up doing really well. Yes, there's a credibility issue with him having been on the show, but just in the last few months, so many artists have said nice things about him-Willie Nelson invited him to do a song onstage, he appeared at the Bonnaroo Festival and played with Trey Anastasio and Galactic (there's some great downloads of his performances, including Whole Lotta Love), Jim Croce's widow praised him for his rendition of Time In A Bottle, etc. He is even friends with Scott Ian from Anthrax. He has a song on the new Santana album even. Trust me, Bo is the real deal; this guy lives and breathes music. Please give him a chance. He's all heart and soul and he just wants to make good music that people will love.

From the moment I saw him go out there and do "Whipping Post" (or Badlands "In A Dream" a cappella) on a fluff show like that, I just couldn't help myself. He's just so genuine and amazing live on stage. I just really dig his voice and his laid-back, funny/dorky personality. I just get this positive vibe from him, and from everything I've read, he's all about the music. You can tell that this guy is all about the music. He's making me fall in love with music all over again. He just seems so real and down-to-earth, yet so talented. He's humble, he's funny and he really cares about what's important.
