Christine Pease-Hernandez was misinterpreted in the Oct. 7 issue of The Rocket. (Hispanic culture and heritage celebrated). She did not state, "this year SRU is attempting to break through the tokenism of past celebrations." What she said is, when people celebrate ethnic and cultural differences they need to go beyond celebrating only the food and party aspect of diversity. Celebrating differences also includes celebrating history, music, customs, language, etc. Celebrating merely the food and party of a certain ethnicity or culture can be a form of tokenism.
