"The Butler" entertains at the Fear of Festival haunted mansion.

Cobwebs covered the dead, bloody bodies of the 10,000 square foot mansion. Axes and chains dangled like weightless feathers from the ceilings of what is known as, "The Legend of Nightmare Manor."

Tucked away on a hilltop, the Morris family had been nationally esteemed for many years; however, locally they were widely disliked. They treated the locals like peasants; they rarely came down their hill into town, and always sent their servants who looked dejected and demoralized. Rumors were spread about the way the Morris's treated their servants. Many people said when the servants were worked "to the bone" and of no use anymore, they were simply banished to the torture chamber.

Over the years, new servants would appear in town to replace elder servants who no one had ever seen leave. There were stories that their bodies were stored under the mansion in the torture chamber. The chambers were supposedly carved from an underground spring that ran under the manor.

The supposed torture of the servants ended in a secret murderous rampage by a crazy servant who had finally had enough. "The Butler," had been born one brisk October night back in 1910. The Butler slipped though the hallways and secret passageways of the mansion, slaughtering the Morris's and the rest of the manor's staff. He took great pride and pleasure in the creative means he used to end their lives. He boiled some in bathtubs, hung others, and took others down in the torture chamber. The slaying lasted several days.

Days went by before local sheriffs caught on to the silence from on top of the hill in the mansion. Once the sheriffs arrived it was obvious that there was a history of slayings in the manor and dungeon below. Without a sign from the "Butler" or anyone else who could have killed all theses people, the investigation dried up and the manor was left as-is, abandoned. The old manor has sat on top of the hill, boarded up ever since.

You can experience the ultimate fear of reliving the second annual Legend of the Nightmare Manor this Halloween at the Fear of Festival haunted mansion in Butler, Pa. With its bone chilling, hair raising, eerie noises and wall to wall creepy cockroaches. The mansion will make you want to grab the person beside you and scream bloody murder.
