Unbearable fashion flaws cannot be ignored

It's been only two weeks since we were graced with warm weather and students are already committing unbearable fashion offenses.
What infuriated my anger about these fashion misfortunes happened just the other day as I was walking into Eisenberg and spotted not one, but two guys wearing socks with sandals. I am sorry to tell you boys that this wasn't OK in the last 20 years, and it certainly isn't OK now. There is absolutely no excuse for this. If it's a chilly morning and your tootsies are cold, there is a simple solution - don't wear sandals. Sandals are meant for bare feet, and bare feet only.
And while we are on the topic of shoes, girls, have you ever heard that certain styles of shoes are meant for certain occasions? I have spotted numerous girls wearing dressy sandals or dress pumps, with a casual outfit like a T-shirt and jeans. I don't know what inspired this, and frankly, I don't really care, but please just stop it! Wearing an oversized tee with cool shoes doesn't make you hip. You aren't setting a new trend; you're only setting yourself up to be made fun of by me.
My favorite summer fashion mishap would have to be showing your bra straps with a very unbefitting top. There are very limited circumstances in which we should ever see your bra strap, like it accidentally falls over your shoulder out of your shirt.
Wearing a visible strap with a tank top is a big no, no. It just looks messy and is very unflattering. And just when I thought it couldn't get any worse, I actually saw a girl wearing a strapped bra with a tube top. This is what strapless bras are made for ladies! As uncomfortable as they may be, it is a sacrifice you must be willing to make if you choose to wear a tube top.
My next rant doesn't deal with just the summer, but I have noticed it being committed more and more every day. So I am going to give you a quick lesson about color.
Brown goes with brown, and black goes with black. Only under very limited circumstances should you mix the two. What I mean is wearing a black belt with brown shoes, or carrying a black purse with a brown belt isn't good. A big part of fashion has to do with accessorizing. All of your accessories should coordinate with one another and brown and black do not complement each other what-so-ever. They are two basic colors that are meant to be worn with other complementary colors, not each other.
Coordinating outfits is so easy people. I don't think I have set the bar too high. There are so many fabulous new trends this year that, though I encourage you to try, I won't judge you if you don't. I know it's hard to keep up. Staying abreast on the latest fashion is not only difficult, but it also can be very pricey. I will however, judge those who choose to wear socks with sandals, or mix brown with black. I'm sorry, but I just can't let that go.
