Bush in denial about Iraq war, moral issues
Issue date: 3/4/05 Section: Rocket Letters
To the Editor:
President George Bush lives in two states. One is Texas and the other is denial. Bush denies that he re-ignited the barbaric Gulf War to please his politician father as the prodigal son who was arrested in Maine at age 40 for driving while intoxicated. Bush denies the spiritual wisdom of Pope John Paul II who emphatically declared as the vicar of Jesus Christ that an American assault on Iraq was "not morally justified." Note that Pope John Paul II, as the vicar of Jesus Christ, speaks infallibly on matters pertaining to Christian faith and morals. War is an absolute moral issue. Bush denies and rejects papal infallibility, a church dogma, just as his Connecticut Congregationalist ancestors scorned "papist" doctrines as they initiated the violent American Revolt of 1776.
Bush denies that his two darling military-age daughters Jenna and Barbara should enlist in the U.S. Army and replace the almost 1,500 military men and women who have been murdered in Iraq. Bush denies the infallible guidance and counsels of his God issued conscience fully activated at baptism, which instruct that the attack on Iraq was immoral, unjust and sinful. Bush's persistent deployment of denial causes his intellect to be blinded.
It is Lent. Bush should go to confession with a priest and confess his mortal sin of starting an immoral war, which has caused the death and mutilation of thousands. Bush denies sacramental priest administered absolution even though the Gospel clearly reveals that Jesus bequeathed this power to his priest apostles on Resurrection Sunday evening: "Whose sins you shall forgive, they are forgiven..." Bush lives in a permanent state of denial as do all institutionals! He denies the guilt caused by his conscience's response to his immoral actions and decisions. He really is a fraud and Bush is hardly "pro-life."
Pray the Rosary daily to bring peace to the world and to end the Bush Gulf War.
