Rock dominates undermanned PSU-Fayette

In the past two weeks, SRU men's basketball team has had a player go over a 1,000 points, shattered the school record for points scored in a game and are off to its first 5-0 start since 1990-91. On Tuesday night, graduate student Jamar Scales scored 22 points, his jersey number, against Pennsylvania State University-Fayette to reach the 1,000-point plateau.

Division I transfer looks to make mark

It's always a long road to travel when returning from an injury, but for Kendra Kutz, it was a literal one. 355 miles, to be exact. When she graduated from Three Rivers High School in Three Rivers, Mich., she was recruited by several Division I programs, including schools in her home state and another in Washington.

Women turn over possessions, win to Ashland in weekend tournament

Kennywood Park is world-renowned for its wooden rollercoaster, the Thunderbolt. Slippery Rock also has its own rollercoaster, the women's basketball team. The team's first six games have provided an up, down and somewhat bumpy ride. After putting together a 72-51 victory over Lake Erie College on Saturday, the Rock dropped a 78-51 decision to Ashland University (4-0) on Sunday afternoon.

Rock falls to Cardinals in playoffs

The women's volleyball team closed out its season last Friday with a loss to Wheeling Jesuit University in the second round of the NCAA Atlantic Regional tournament, held at California University of Pennsylvania The 3-1 loss gave the Rock a 26-12 record to finish out the 2008 campaign.

Women's cross country team places 11th, Wright an All-American

The Rock women's cross country ran in its first national championship cross country race in 13 years on Saturday, Nov. 22. The No. 12 ranked Rock women's squad did not disappoint, finishing in 11th place as a team. Coach John Papa was pleased with the way his team performed.
