Men's basketball throws down on Wednesday

Fifty-eight. That's the amount of points SRU men's basketball team outscored their opponents by in their seven victories last season. Fifty. The number of points SRU (2-0) has outscored its opponents in its first two games of the 2008-2009 season. The Kevin Reynolds's era of SRU basketball is off and running, with its high-tempo offensive putting lots of points on the scoreboard.

Missed lay-ups, turnovers lead to rough start for Rock women's basketball

SRU women's basketball entered the Golden Bear Classic at Kutztown University, looking to shake of its demons from last season. The Rock was marred by injuries and turnovers, and the team was hoping the 2008-09 season would bring about change. But the Rock women (0-2) struggled offensively throughout the weekend and dropped its first two games of the season.

Women's soccer closes out season with a flurry

A tough opponent and a driving snowstorm stopped SRU women's soccer team (14-7-1) in its tracks before they could make it out of the Atlantic Regional of the NCAA Division II soccer playoffs. Sunday's 3-0 loss against Mercyhurst College (14-4-4) was the fourth loss this season to the Lakers, the first since a 5-2 loss on Nov.

Women's volleyball upset Fighting Scots, advances to second round of playoffs

After SRU women's volleyball team lost to Indiana University of Pennsylvania on Nov. 4, the team needed to rally together. They weren't even set to make the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference playoffs and needed to beat rival Clarion University of Pennsylvania to make the postseason.

Men's soccer bows out of NCAA Division II tournament in Elite 8

After finishing the season by winning eight of nine games to make the playoff, SRU men's soccer team was used to adversity. After receiving a bid to the NCAA tournament, they upset No. 24 nationally ranked East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania 1-0 in overtime.
