Four.
The number of goals sophomore forward and newly named Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Western Division Player of the Week Alison Hindley scored last Sunday in the Rock's season opening 5-0 whitewashing of Seton Hill.
Four.
The number of players, including Hindley, in Rock women's soccer history to score four or more goals in a game, which puts her with the likes of All-American Sonya Maher who netted her four in 1996 versus Washington & Jefferson and Allison Bourke (1996 versus LaRoche).
The single-game record for goals is held by Cara Yannotti, who scored five times versus Dominican (N.Y.) in 2001.
Four.
The number of goals Hindley needs to match her total from a year ago, after putting home her fifth of the year in Wednesday's 3-1 win over Clarion.
"It is my first one ever," Hindley said about being named PSAC-West Player of the Week. "It is a great honor, but I couldn't have done it without my teammates. They are the reason behind this honor."
Dating back to last year, Hindley has scored 13 goals in her last nine regular-season games.
"It's weird," Hindley said. "Right now it feels as though. And I know that, every time I get the ball, something is going to happen. I think [scoring five goals in two games] has to do with a little luck. Someone is definitely looking out for me right now."
The Rock [2-0 overall, 1-0 PSAC-West] took off running last Sunday against Seton Hill, scoring four second-half goals, three of which came less than 10 minutes apart, to blow the game wide-open.
Hindley got the attack going for SRU in the 31st minute, sending senior Shelly Regner's pass screaming into the back of the Seton Hill net.
The same two hooked up again in the 49th minute to push the Rock lead to 2-0.
It was Hindley again in the 56th and 57th minutes extending the Rock lead to 4-0, scoring both goals on freshman Alyssa Barrett's assists.
"Ali is determined to succeed, and she has a great mindset, something you want from out of the striker position," said Rock Head Coach Noreen Herlihy. "She is 100 percent healthy which really helps and she is confident in her ability to score."
