LAURA CHIRILLO/THE ROCKET The recent construction of Boozel Dining Hall has left students with one less dining option on campus, and as a result has created long lines at both Rocky's Grille and Weisenfluh Dining Hall. The long lines leave many students feeling annoyed for having to wait and also rushed to be on time to classes.

With Boozel Dining Hall being renovated and remodeled, the exceptionally long lines for Wiesenfluh Dining Hall and Rocky's Grille aren't a surprise. A lot of SRU students are wondering if these long lines are necessary.

The construction of Boozel Dining Hall began in the summer and is expected to continue until January 2009.

Many freshmen said they are having trouble trying to fit the long cafeteria lines into their already busy schedule.

Kristen Schilero, an 18-year-old freshman dance major, said that on the days her professor doesn't let her class out early before common hour, she has to wait over 10 minutes to get into the dining hall.

"I think these lines are annoying," she said. "And it makes things especially hard when you have class after common hour because you feel so rushed."

Schilero predicts it will be even worse in the winter. She said that if the lines remain this long that she'll be eating in her dorm room the majority of the time when it gets colder.

Phil Pesko, an 18-year-old freshman computer science major, is also not looking forward to waiting in long lines in the winter months.

"I don't even want to think about what [waiting in line] will be like in the winter," he said. "I'm definitely going to stock up on hoodies."

Pesko said that he's waited up to a half hour to get into Weisenfluh.

The freshmen aren't the only ones who are experiencing problems with the long lines. The waiting is taking a toll on the upperclassmen as well. Rachel Garland, a 20-year-old junior elementary education major, said waiting takes up too much time when there are more constructive things that she could be doing.
