So much for Rock pride

Abstract:
The Rock Rowdies are back. Students who are interested in supporting SRU athletics give a kind of Oakland Zoo atmosphere to the sporting events on campus.

But the refusal to reconsider scheduling a game may hinder the students' ability to support the Rock men's basketball and soccer teams this Sunday....

Spot on Josh. This situation could easily be solved with a little foresight. The men's basketball game against a fluff opponent should take a backseat to the men's soccer team attempting to ear a spot in the elite 8 of the D-II tournament. All they would have to do is move the 3 pm game to 4 or 4:30 and folks could see both.

Instead, as usual, nobody but the mens soccer families and the girls soccer team will attend, and you have Mr Leuken in part to thank. Rather than boost soccer attendance by any type of arrangements, he announced last week that admission would be free to the basketball game.

Every student who is even slightly unsure will go see the men for free before they pay $5 to watch soccer, and the same is likely true for the paying public.

Great job, Rock Athletics.
